Dismay of UDP’s Party Leader Convention
For: Press Release
Date: February 11, 2020
The Belize People’s Front, through this release, share in the concerns of the voting public and the wider population at large. We are in total dismay at the insistence of the convention, held this past Sunday, February 9th 2020. Post-convention, we now face a constant revelation of names, of members of both parties, who have governed the country, as close associates with the persons under criminal investigation, currently in process in the State of Utah, United States of America.
While our People’s First Agenda resonates with even the most dedicated status quo party supporters, we are shocked to know that the history of both parties is even deeper than demonstrated in locally inappropriate deals. When the past Prime Ministers’ name is being called in connection of bribery by the then US Ambassador, the current leader of the incumbent party being associated with a fraudster and a convicted criminal, currently incarcerated; The Opposition Leader in no better position with similar bribery allegations. We hope that this will begin the awakening of the Belizean Public needs, to right the wrongs incurred on our people.
What the Belize People’s Front brings to the people, is a contract that the Executives of the party, will remove and prosecute the very members if found lacking or in self-serving practices. We LEAD BY EXAMPLE, and by that we mean, exemplary leadership, being good stewards of the resources of the people, which will lead to development and equal opportunities for all, with no regard to race, political or religious affiliation. Why did simply governing for all to benefit equally, with service towards all, without fear or favor couldn’t be implemented in these organizations, whom have repeatedly had the opportunity to mend the error of their way?
We are open to partner with the civil society and the unions to purge the system clean and clear, so that the wealth of the nation, can then be equitably distributed without discrimination and or reprisals. It’s time we stop all the black eyes and regain our rightful place in the brotherhood of Nations in Latin America and the Caribbean.
End or Statement.
