First Vetting of Seven BPF Candidates
For: Press Release
Date: March 19th, 2019
Topic: First Vetting of Seven (7) BPF Candidates
On March 9th 2019, The Belize People’s Front held its first vetting of candidates at the Banana Bank Resort. Seven (7) candidates met with the vetting committee and were relentlessly interviewed before selection as Standard Bearer for their respective constituencies.
They were then officially informed on Friday March 15th, after further deliberations by the committee. They (the committee) were tasked with selecting only candidates that are selfless servants of the people, and those that carry the spirit of the BPF, of leadership by example and who see the opportunity to serve the people, as an honour, and not one for self-gain or to promote nepotism for friends and families.
Selected to serve as Standard Bearers were the following:
- Mrs. Nefretery Nancy Marin: Party Leader, Cayo North-East Constituency
- Mrs. Amparito Tun-O’Neill: Corozal Bay Constituency
- Mr. Oscar Castaneda: Cayo Central Constituency
- Mr. John Carr: Cayo South Constituency
- Mr. Roman Sabal: Dangriga Constituency
- Dr. Abraham Flowers: Port Loyola Constituency
- Mr. Sylvino Ical: Stann Creek West Constituency
These candidates will be signing a solemn oath on swearing in. This will enable recall of candidates if they are found in actions contrary to the Constitution of the Party and of service to the people. These candidates have agreed to collectively work diligently in educating and uniting our people.
This is Belize’s First Populist Political Party, with the first candidates who have accepted to a 50% salary cut on assuming office. This novice lead by example is the mandate by which value for money will be guaranteed for the improvement of the lives of the masses.
