Topic: People National Party (PNP) Supports Diaspora
Sirs,
It is interesting to note the support or lack thereof from the known political parties in their blatant disregard and deafening silence on the Belizean’s Right to Vote and hold elected office in the country of their birth.
It is nice however, to see the changes that are occurring with the now public support of the Diaspora’s Right to Vote, via proxy, by the People National Party (PNP). This have been an ongoing struggle and one that is a fundamental right, inherent with that of any nation state. Belize is no different in this struggle for acceptance whilst we try to remain neutral in the political war of ideologies that rages in the known partisan electoral machinery.
The Belize People’s Front (BPF) makes it abundantly clear, that when elected to office, the rights of all Belizeans, both at home and abroad, will be rightfully and justly returned and not only will they have the right to vote and run for political office, but they will also have the ability to be employed in the county of their origin, as a professional with a mandate to professionalize the different heads of departments within the government.
While we don’t claim to have all the answers, we are open to the input from professionals and grassroots alike in taking the country in a new and just, progressive, nonpartisan approach to good governance. We are certain that the Diaspora’s support in making this change is imminent, as they will not be bought as the politicians usually do with the very people, they maintain marginalized for this said purpose.
Again, we welcome PNP’s acceptance of their fellow Belizean brothers and sisters abroad, the invite remains for the Vision Inspired by the People (VIP), should they decide to unite the electorate, in an attempt to bring change.
