Date: June 15, 2019
Topic: Training for San Ignacio and Benque Viejo Police Formations

Monday June 15th was the first day of intense four (4) days training for members of the San Ignacio and Benque Viejo Police Formations, being provided by Peace Officers International and facilitated by Mrs. Nefretery Nancy Marin, as a part of her continued assistance to her community and the police officers that serve in these communities.

Topics covered by the trainer, Mr. Randy Green, President of Peace Officers International, included:

  • Ethics
  • Self-defense
  • Officer Survival
  • Arrest Procedure
  • Arrest Techniques
  • Dealing with Stress
  • Community & Police Relationship

Mr. Green have trained over 80,000 police officers in over 20 countries around the world in patrol techniques, self-defense, use of weapons, ethics and many other courses.

When asked Mrs. Marin why she chooses this type of training for the officers, she quipped,

“When our officers are not trained in tactics and professional ethics, then they don’t know how much force is too much force, and they end up hurting people in their attempt to arrest and question suspects. When they don’t have the love of God and the love of people, then they don’t have a respect for life. This training encompasses these aspects and will encourage them to protect, serve and care for our people.”

Mrs. Marin also stated that she plans to have this as an annual training.
