BPF Mission Statement
To develop a movement of independent leaders for a progressive post-partisan reform, that will hold true to maintaining relationships as an important part of our convictions, one that will respect an overriding commitment to dialogue, deliberation, diversity of opinions and perspectives. One that will demonstrate a bias for action, in being simultaneously innovative and practical with a long-term vision, whilst demonstrating concern for core values and principles.
We do not aspire to be another special interest group, but instead seek to diminish the negative influence of partisanship. The Belize People’s Front networks to create new electoral coalitions supporting new models of nonpartisan governance and striving for the broadest forms of “grassroots” participation.
After many months of rumours and listening to the cry of the general populace that there’s a dire need for a different type of leadership, with transparency, honesty and accountability; The Belize People’s Front (BPF), in collaboration with the People’s National Party (PNP) and the Belize Development Partners (BDP), have initiated a unification of third parties under a united and collaborative front.
The need for unification of the third parties and or independent thinking people are of paramount importance, as it is made clear that central government is not making the most responsible decision. The balance of democracy that have been lacking in Belize, can be achieved, through inclusion rather than exclusion, through the strengthening of the third parties alongside the independent community leaders, who envisions a transparent type of progressive leadership, one with a bias for accountability and true representation of the needs of the masses and not special interest.
After intense deliberation on Saturday 9th November, at a meeting hosted by The Belize People’s Front with officials from the People’s National Party, the Belize Development Partners and others, the following was agreed to:
- That the splintered factions and the parties mentioned above, have decided to unite under one banner, in working toward the greater good for all.
- That the above-mentioned organizations, will be the unifying force working to bring all interested persons under one banner, representing true and honest leadership.
- That we will seek out local leadership from the various constituencies, who wants to bring true, honest and progressive development to their communities.
- That the country will now be offered a choice in the next general elections by people who will put people before party.
These decisions were agreed to with all in attendance with future meetings planned with a vision of working together for our country’s’ benefit.
In Solidarity,
Mrs. Nefretery Nancy Marin
President, The Belize People’s Front
